Do all long distance relationships end in disaster?
I asked a few people.
One said that she’d never go for it again because even with all the emails and calls, there will always be something lacking. Eventually she’d get bored and that is that.
Another told me that she had been in a long distance relationship for 3 years. But taking into consideration that she was together with the guy for 4 years prior to him leaving, it doesnβt really say much. She ended it because he had become over possesive and the decision was made easier by the fact that she had started seeing someone else.
I was told by another person that she won’t fancy it. She doesn’t mind not seeing him for 5 days a week as long as they have the weekend together. I asked her if she was put in the position of doing a long distance relationship then how long would she last. She said 6 months max. But she’s currently in a relationship where her man is blatantly cheating on her.
A close friend told me that she was all for it. But there will be a lot of sacrifices involved and a lot of travelling as well but her long distance relationship travelling only costs RM300 tops on Air Asia while mine would be RM700 minimum.
Some work some don’t. So am I worrying myself too much? Or should I worry at all? Because is a long distance relationship a relationship at all? That would bring us to the core of what actually constitutes a relationship. It’s not all about hugs and kisses. If it is mainly involving 2 people connecting at an emotional as well as intelectual level then I guess it is a relationship no matter how far physically you’re apart.
Each has their own limit of testing the old age proverb “Distance makes the heart grow fonder”. But there is another that might just creep in, “Out of sight, Out of mind”
I’ve seen it and done it all. I did the online courting, I’ve been with the village bicycle, I’ve been with the snow queen, I’ve been set up before so I guess adding this to my repertoire should be a new adventure and if at the end of it I get to be with my princess, it’s worth every second of waiting.
I’m back to doing long distance π¦ He had to go back and run the restaurant business, which is good of coz.
And you know that part where you wrote “itβs worth every second of waiting” –> it’s true when you’ve met the right one π
Oh, he’s back in Kuching? Which restaurant? I’d like to drop by one of these days. So I’ll have you all to myself when I’m in KL, huh? Yea! Hehe.
Hmm.. sound how the last person sounds like me? is that me? if it is, gee… i kinda feel quite hurt about the last sentence.
every second of waiting is really worth it if the person deserves it… π
