This is another Rex Navarrete story with an accompanying video.

This is a video for a story told by Rex Navarrete, a Filipino comedian. I’ve heard this skit before on an audio CD but I stumbled onto this video made to complement Rex telling the joke to a live audience and I think, it’s quite well made.

There’s this guy in the office in Sabah.

He sings Elvis songs really well. I mean, really really well. I first heard him when he came up to the hostel and started playing a few Elvis songs on the guitar. He had that deep voice and pull at the end of the note. All in all, he did it quite well. The next day when I was in the office, he came around singing Elvis songs to himself. So I thought I’d amuse him by playing a few Elvis songs on my laptop for him to listen to.

When he heard the music playing, he rushed over to where I was seated and sat down next to me and said, “You have Elvis also?” So after a few songs and watching him truthfully enjoy each passing moment of Elvis, I just had to ask, what was so great about Elvis? He looked me in the eyes and just said, “Elvis is the king.” After a short silence, he then added, “Second: P Ramli.”
