If you’ve reached this post because you’re looking for English tuition classes for your kid, my question to you is, Do you really hate your kid that much? Tuition classes takes up 3 hours of your kid’s day. 3 hours missed out on being a kid. 3 hours that you could have used to spend time with him/her. Why won’t you love your kid? Why? You’d rather spend RM50-RM100 a month to get rid of your offspring. There are other deserving couples who would die to have a child and here you are oblivious to your fortune.

Excuse 1: I want my kid to have quality education. There is nothing wrong with giving him/her the advantage of mastering English.

Yes. No doubt. But if you don’t speak English at home, how much better do you think your kid will be with an extra few hours of ‘learning’? You don’t learn a language by sitting in a class. You learn it by speaking it on a daily basis. I suggest YOU go for English tuition and then YOU speak it with your kid 24/7.

Excuse 2: My kid goes to a government school. They don’t teach it well enough.

Funny thing happened the other day. I saw a kid from Lodge School entering an English tuition center. Apparently some parents don’t even trust the most expensive private school in Kuching. Lame. Isn’t it also YOUR duty to educate YOUR child? Don’t blame government schools. I didn’t have to go to a private school or attend English tuition classes. Here I am blogging in English. My language vocabulary ain’t that great but I get by.

Face the facts. You want your kid gone the whole day so you are free to do what you want to do. You don’t love your child. If you did, you would have done the math and saved the money spent on classes in some fixed deposit account.

To be honest, the main reason why I’m ranting about this is because there happens to be an English tuition center right opposite my office. It just so happens that their classes finish at 5pm which is when I get off work. These bloody parents park where ever they like and thus create minor traffic jams which I don’t appreciate when I’m trying to get home. It’s bloody annoying. So being guilty by association, I think English tuition centers are annoying too.
