Moving on

I’ll be handing in my resignation letter tomorrow.

It comes as a surprise to myself that I’m quitting my job. While many Malaysians remain jobless after the massive retrenchment in February, it might seem insane for me to leave a decent paying job without an immediate fall back. The perks of the job were great; travels and networking but there are reasons that I have to leave my job. I got an email on Thursday that ended with, “you should be worried if you still have a job when you get back [in reference to my trip to Nepal]“. I take threats seriously so rather than explain myself, I’ll just quit. If anyone has anything for me to do, let me know.

I’m not in a hurry but I think I can hold up for at least a month. I have a few business opportunities and a few other work options I can take but I’m eager to get start something of my own. Where do I go from here? While I may not know where my next paycheck will be coming from, the sense of freedom that I can do whatever I want to do from here on excites me. The feeling will probably be gone when I run out of money.

  1. Eeeks! Sorry to hear about that.

Anyways, knowing u, i’m sure u’ll bounce back just fine :) You always do.

  2. Sigh, my resignation has been ignored for the time being.. Something to do about having the board to discuss my resignation plus I have to send in a signed copy.. My sister called me up trying to talk me out of it and my president and a few colleagues tried doing the same..

I love my job BUT…. anyways..
