Hijau Daun – Suara (Ku Berharap)

One of the few things I bought in Jakarta were 3 CDs. I don’t mind helping their local music scene because unlike the local music scene in Malaysia, their CDs cost much cheaper. The 3 I bought came close to the price of 1 here. I stumbled upon this song while I was drinking in my hotel lobby and the lounge band was playing this. The next day I went to Taman Anggerek Mall and bought it. The CD is pretty good and I highly recommend it.

I’ve taken the liberty of translating the lyrics for all you non-bahasa speakers. It’s a pretty rough translation but probably correct.

Lyrics

Disini aku masih sendiri (I’m still alone here)
Merenungi hari-hari sepi (Reliving all of those lonely days)
Aku tanpamu (I’m without you)
Masih tanpamu (Still without you)

Bila esok hari datang lagi (When tomorrow comes again)
Ku coba untuk hadapi semua ini (I try to face all of this)
Meski tanpamu meski tanpamu (Eventhough without you, even without you)

Bila aku dapat bintang yang berpijar (When I get a shining star)
Mentari yang tenang bersamaku disini (The calming sun is here with me)
Ku dapat tertawa menangis merenung (I’ll be able to laugh and cry while reminiscing)
Di tempat ini aku bertahan (In the place where I stand)

*
Suara dengarkanlah aku (Hear my voice)
Apa kabarnya pujaan hatiku (How is the idol my heart)
Aku di sini menunggunya (I’m here waiting for her)
Masih berharap di dalam hatinya (Still hoping to be in her heart)

Suara dengarkanlah aku (Hear my voice)
Apakah aku slalu dihatinya (Could I be always in her heart)
Aku di sini menunggunya (I’m here waiting for her)
Masih berharap di dalam hatinya (Still hoping to be in her heart)

Kalau ku masih tetap disini (If ever I’m still here)
Ku lewati semua yang terjadi (I’ll relive everything that has hapenned)
Aku menunggumu Aku menunggu (I’m waiting for you, I’m waiting)

(back to *)

    thanks

  3. It is possible but (trying to be as non-homophobic as I can be) it would ruin the song for me if I thought he was singing this song for a guy in any capacity (dad/dead friend/runaway son). So I’ll stick to assuming it’s all her. =p

    • im a girl…if i sing this for a man..is it okay,
would i sound like a lesbian if i do?
i want to sing this to a guy…i think the lyrics are perfect
but im not sure if a woman can sing this..to a man.

  4. btw…can you make an english translation of the semua tak sama lyrics? i can send you the indonesian lyrics..its semua tak sama by padi.
    thanks

  5. I’d be happy to. Check back in a couple of hours.

    thanks sooo much

  7. yea, it’s fine. Sorry about the other song you asked for. I’m caught up with a few things. But I’ll get to it as soon as I get the chance.

  8. Hey! Great translation… esp for a bahasa-challenged Indon girl. XD

Also, ruth, third person pronouns in bahasa are gender neutral, so no need to change anything directly.
