Synopsis of Video
This video is taken from a show called Everywoman that is aired on Al Jazeera. It takes a look at the crime of Apostasy in Malaysia where a born Muslim woman marries a Hindu and follows the religion of her husband. Everything is fine until the arrival of their first born child. Complications arise while trying to register the baby. In the end, the baby is taken away from the couple, the woman is sent to a ‘faith rehabilitation’ center and their marriage is not recognized. It is appalling and shocking; not only have the events that have taken placed but also comments by certain law ‘experts’.

Definition of Apostasy
My Comments:
We talk about freedom of religion yet there is a law that doesn’t recognize a marriage of a Muslim and a non-Muslim unless the non-Muslim converts to Islam. I choose my words carefully on my blog but this is fucked up! If you care, please watch the video.

yes i agree with you – this is a “free country” – but we cannot do anything because this has and will always be the law in this country. much have been said about these situation but all remains the same.
